PROFESSIONAL actor and classical pianist, Michael Lunts, will re-visit Thornbury with another of his innovative one-man shows to portray composer Frederick Chopin as both man and musician in atmospheric drama Winter In Majorca.

This play and concert rolled into one will be performed at Cossham Hall in Thornbury on September 9 and will tell the story of Chopin’s stay in a deserted monastery at Valldemosa on Majorca with his lover, the novelist and femme fatale, George Sand.

Incorporated into the action are live performances of some of the beautiful and haunting pieces Chopin composed there.

This is the first in the autumn series of concerts to raise funds for the Armstrong Hall Redevelopment Project (Phase 1).

  •  Winter In Majorca is on Saturday, September 9 at 7.30pm in the Cossham Hall, Thornbury. Tickets £13 (to include interval nibbles) can be obtained from Thornbury Town Hall or by phoning 01454 412272.
