THE next show at The Old Stables acoustic club in Cricklade on Thursday, September 14 will feature one of the UK's most respected songwriter Charlie Dore with multi-instrumentalist Julian Littman of Steeleye Span.
The evening of eclectic, contemporary folk will see the pair, friends since they were 16, swap guitars, mandolin, harmonium, ukulele, piano, autoharp, harmonies and stories as they showcase the brand new album Dark Matter, dip into favourites from the past five albums and share original acoustic versions of hits Charlie has written for others.
Charlie has written songs for Tina Turner, Paul Carrack, Celine Dion, Jimmy Nail and Sheena Easton to name a few, as well as her own hit song Pilot of The Airways.
Support comes from undiscovered Josh Okeefe, who is a unique and original folk singer, with vocals that have been compared to an early Guthrie or Dylan.
The Old Stables, created by Seán Devine and Nigel Wynne, is situated in the old stable clock behind the White Hart Hotel in Cricklade.
