NOT making it away on holiday doesn’t mean missing out on beach days this summer. The seaside is coming to Gloucester Quays.
Every day for four weeks from August 5 to September 3, Gloucester Quays will be packed with beach-themed fun and seaside-style sporting delights.
Two sandy beaches are once again being created at Orchard Square, one for sporting activities and one for families and little ones to relax.
“Over the last few years our rugby beach weekend has become so popular with families that this year we decided to extend the event for the whole summer holiday period,” Gloucester Quays centre manager Matt Bird said.
Pop-up beach huts will be selling British beach food favourites and every weekend there will be beach beats music, traditional Punch and Judy shows, and a beachcomber market with hand-crafted treasures.
A rugby tournament will take place over the August Bank Holiday Weekend, with appearances from the Gloucester Rugby team and a unique chance to meet the stars for photos and autographs, on Saturday, August 26.
