A ROMAN-themed series of plays will be broadcast live from the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon to Cirencester's Corinium Museum next month.
Housed in the museum's lecture theatre, the Corinium Cinema will play host to three special performances.
Cinema goers will be able to track the decline of an empire in Titus Andronicus on August 9, from 7pm.
Titus Andronicus sees the decay of Rome reaching violent depths in Shakespeare’s most bloody play. Titus is a ruler exhausted by war and loss, who relinquishes power but leaves Rome in disorder.
Rape, cannibalism and severed body parts fill the moral void at the heart of this corrupt society.
In the months to come, the tragic thriller Coriolanus and Shakespeare’s greatest comedy Twelfth Night will also be broadcast.
To book tickets, visit the Corinium Museum, or call 01285 655611. For more information see coriniummuseum.org
