THE internationally-renowned fashion designer, Dame Zandra Rhodes, will be sharing iconic pieces from her personal collection at Art Couture Painswick, from August 19 until September 17.

Each piece in the unique exhibition has been carefully selected for its significance in the development of Zandra's illustrious career, from her first design to be featured in Vogue, to the headpiece she wore when she met the Queen.

A background narrative celebrates the key moments in the designer's life and how she has created opportunities for others.

Robin Watkins' work, 'A Bugs Life,' will also be on display, after she won the chance to spend a week working with Zandra in her London studio. The placement provided Robin with a range of exciting new experiences and allowed her access to some invaluable contacts within the art world.

Dame Zandra Rhodes was part of the new wave of British fashion designers who put London at the forefront of the international fashion scene in the 1970s. Today she is considered an icon of British design, immediately recognisable by her pink hair and eclectic style.

Visit Art Couture Painswick at The Centre on Bisley Street from 10am to 4pm, between Wednesday and Saturday, to see this rare exhibition.
