CURVE's all new production of the hit musical comedy Sister Act is at the Bristol Hippodrome from August 7-12.
Sister Act tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a murder.
Under protective custody she is hidden in the one place she won’t be found – a convent. Disguised as a nun and under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.
Alexandra Burke, who recently starred as 'Rachel Marron' in the West End show and national tour of 'The Bodyguard,' will play Deloris in all evening performances.
Alexandra originally rose to fame after winning the fifth series of The X Factor. Later, her debut number one single Hallelujah sold more than one million copies in the UK, a first for a British female soloist.
Joanna Francis, having excelled in her West End role in The Lion King, will take over for the matinees.
With direction and choreography by Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel Horwood and original music by eight-time Oscar and Tony award winner Alan Menken, the show is bound to be a stunner.
