Cirencester

  • THE Circle of Life Flower Festival will fill the Parish Church with colour until Sunday as part of Abbey 900.
  • THIS week is the last chance to view Cirencester College’s Art Festival of Historic Fashion at the Corinium Museum. The exhibition closes on Sunday at 5pm. 

Coaley

  • COTSWOLD Country Flowers will be celebrating British Flowers Week with a free open garden at The Ham, Coaley GL11 5AS. Entry is free with refreshments available for a donation to The Butterfly Garden, Cheltenham.

Quenington

  • A BOOK sale will be held in Quenington Church, all day every day until July 2. All books will be 50p.

Friday, June 23

Cirencester

  • HUNTER’S Care Centre on Cherry Tree Lane is holding a Summer Fete and Classic Car Show from 2-4.40pm, raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society and the Barchester Foundation.
  • JUBILEE 77 Club Cirencester at 10 Ashcroft Road are celebrating their 40th anniversary with a weekend of entertainment, starting with an ‘oldies evening’ of sing-a-longs and dancing from 8-11.30pm. Non-members are welcome at all events. For more information contact Roly on 07849 805142.

Saturday, June 24

  • FREE guided walk at 2pm about the history and legacy of St Mary’s Abbey. Meet by the LEGO build in St John Baptist.

Dursley

  • EVERY Saturday at Norman Hill Field there is a car boot sale from 9.30am-3pm. The cost is £6 per car for sellers. Contact Frank Tunbridge on 07711 476715. 

Northleach

  • THE Charter Fair, which dates back to 1227, is being held from 11am to 5pm on the King George V playing fields, with craft, go-karts, tennis coaching and a wide selection of food. It will be followed by the Music Festival until 11pm. Don’t miss the kick-off parade from the Market Square at 10.45am. Admission and parking is free. 

Sunday, June 25

Avening

  • A TRADITIONAL fete and fun dog show is at Avening church from 2pm, featuring their famous duck races and lots of stalls.

Cirencester

  • A BIG Picnic event is in the Abbey Grounds on June 25 between 1-5pm. Everybody is welcome; the organisers hope those who are homeless or in need will come along to enjoy a picnic. 
  • JUBILEE 77 Club are holding a family bring and share buffet from 12-10pm, with music from 1pm and live entertainment from 4pm.
  • SOROPTIMIST International Cirencester and District are holding a vintage tea party from 2-4pm in the Abbey Grounds. All welcome.

Fairford

  • FRIENDS of Farmor’s School is holding a car boot sale on the school’s playing field. Open from 10am-1pm and free for buyers with refreshments available. Gates open at 9am for sellers, with a charge of £7 per car and £10 per van.

Monday, June 26

Cirencester

  • HELP build the LEGO model of St Mary’s Abbey until October. Minimum £1 donation to place a brick at St John Baptist. 
  • ON MONDAY lunchtimes in June, Anthony Hammond presents ‘Fairest Isle’ organ concerts at  1.10pm in St John Baptist.
  • AN ART Exhibition is in Holy Trinity Church, Watermoor, featuring the work of the pupils of Watermoor Primary School until June 30, between 10am-4pm.

  • THE Ashcroft centre will host Cirencester Music Society’s summer party from 7.30pm. Johnny Coppin, the accomplished singer and broadcaster, will present ‘My Life in Music’ and perform.
