MULTI-instrumentalist Robert Reed will peform Sanctuary Live on Saturday, June 3at The Parabola Arts Centre in Cheltenham.

Rob has had a long and varied career in the music business.

As well as being a long time producer for TV in South Wales he is known for his work with bands Magenta, Cyan, ChimpanA and his project Kompendium.

Back in 2014 he released his first solo album heavily influenced by Mike Oldfield’s early works like Tubular Bells and Ommadawn.

The album was called ‘Sanctuary’ and it was a huge hit with Oldfield fans and general music fan alike.

Rob had become disillusioned with the fact that Mike Oldfield stopped producing the long-form instrumental based musically that he loved as young boy and eventually decided to take up the mantle and do it himself. And it only took him 35 years to do it.

In 2016 Rob released ‘Sanctuary II’ again to high acclaim. This time he used some of the musicians who worked with Oldfield back in the 1970s; Les Penning on recorder and Simon Philips on drums. Both albums were co-produced by legendary Tubular Bells producer Tom Newman.

Last October, Rob performed both Sanctuary and Sanctuary II for the first time at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studio near Bath and will now be bringing the show to Cheltenham.
