A SPONSORED countryside walk to raise funds for local medical charity Cobalt will take place on Sunday, April 23 in Nailsworth at 10am.

The popular annual walk is named after local resident Arthur McTiffin who founded the event 33 years ago.

Fellow Nailsworth residents John Perkins and Richard Hardwick took over helping to coordinate the event following Arthur’s retirement in 2011.

The walk spans seven picturesque miles and starts at the entrance to Egypt Mill car park.

Kirsty Bradbury, fundraising engagement officer for Cobalt said: “John and Richard have worked tirelessly to organise this event for us.

“Walking is a low impact activity and the route is accessible for the majority of people which makes this a great event for all the family.

“Money raised will help us continue to provide state of the art services and care to local people.”

Refreshments will be laid on for finishers at the Comrades Club, Nailsworth from 1pm.

The event is family and dog friendly and free parking is available in Nailsworth Town car park.
