HATTIE Briggs will perform for the first time this Saturday at Under the Edge Arts at The Chipping Hall, Wotton under Edge, as a duo with her cellist/backing vocalist, Jasmine Scott Neale.
As well as gigging, February has seen her record her newest EP, 17, the second one of her “12 Months of Madness” project - a new limited edition CD being released every month of 2017.
This one contains songs first written when she was just 17 and right at the beginning of her musical career. They have been re-worked and re-arranged to fit Hattie's current sound.
Hattie said: "It's important to look backwards sometimes, not only to see how far you've come, but also because there are some hidden gems that can still be used and re-moulded to create your strongest work. There's something raw and free about the stuff I was writing six years ago."
- See Hattie at UTEA on Saturday, Febraury 25. 8pm. Tickets £9/£&. Visit utea.org.uk for more
