AWARD-winning singer and BBC Radio 2 presenter Clare Teal is bringing her new show, which celebrates the life of Doris Day, to Tewkesbury later this month.

Clare’s tribute to Doris on BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night, in honour of her 90th birthday, was a huge success.

It was decided that the programme really needed to be taken on tour so with her fabulous Trio, Clare has created a show that celebrates all of Doris’ professional life.

Starting from her early days with Les Brown and his Band of Renown, the show moves on to embrace her massive hit songs from the time when she was the Queen of Hollywood and also includes later material when she was more influenced by the world of pop.

The show is an entertaining, joyful journey through the musical life of one of the biggest legends of Hollywood.

Songs include Secret Love, Move Over Darling, Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps, Deadwood Stage, It’s Magic, Ready Willing and Able, Everybody Loves A Lover, I’ll Never Stop Loving You and Que Sera Sera (What Will Be Will Be).

  • Clare Teal celebrates the life of Doris Day at the Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury on Thursday, February 23. Tickets from £17.50, for more information and to book visit rosestheatre.org or call 01684 295074.
