INTERNATIONAL superstar Bryan Adams has been signed as the headline act for Saturday night at next year's Cornbury Festival, in what will be the performer's only UK festival in 2017.

The festival is pulling out all the stops to make next year's festival, scheduled for July 7, 8 and 9 2017, memorable, as it will be the last ever Cornbury.

Getting Bryan Adams to agree to play Cornbury is a massive coup for festival director Hugh Fillimore and on a personal note fulfils a long term ambition. "Ever since I saw an awesome performance at Wembley way back, I’ve been trying to bag a show with Bryan – pestering him for over 20 years. We’re all very excited that he has agreed to join us for our Finale.

"It will definitely be worth the wait," Hugh said.

Canadian born, but with dual Canadian and British nationality, Bryan Adams has achieved enduring success internationally with a string of multi-million selling albums.

In the UK he’s had 12 top ten singles and still holds the record for the longest consecutive No 1 with (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, which topped the charts for 16 weeks in 1991.

Phillimore recently announced that next year's event, the 14th, will be the last and fans have been rushing to secure Earlybird tickets. Saturday day tickets along with weekend tickets will be available in all formats from 9am on Thursday, December 1.

Cornbury, has featured many great performers over the last 13 years – Joe Cocker, Amy Winehouse, Robert Plant, Paul Simon, Van Morrison, Blondie, Bryan Ferry and Georgie Fame.

The festival has gained a reputation for its unique and friendly atmosphere and beautiful Cotswold location.
