THOSE who are looking for something slightly different from the usual pantomime fare offered at this time of year will find it at Cirencester's Sundial Theatre from December 7.
The Sundial Theatre Company presents A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, newly adapted by Duncan Walthew in a way that keeps Dicken’s wonderful words and depiction of Christmas, whilst staging a familiar story in an original and exciting way.
They’re transforming the Sundial into a traverse theatre space; a long and wide corridor down which scenes and 24 performers are continually moving.
The audience will face one another and a communal event will be created.
But most importantly, all of the scenes will be there: the Crachit’s Christmas; the ghosts: Marley, Christmas Past, Present and Future, and of course, the curmudgeonly and miserly Scrooge.
In a dog-eat-dog world, Ebenezer Scrooge has always done what it takes to survive.
Maybe it's time he learned a lesson.
Come and be spellbound. And a little scared...
