THE STRIKE A Light festival returns to Gloucester next month with special events and performances taking place throughout the city.

The festival programme begins on October 12, runs until October 18 and is packed with something for everyone to enjoy, including internationally renowned dance, critically acclaimed theatre, rocking family performances and interactive installations, based right in the centre of Gloucester.

The festival will launch at the Guildhall with an evening of beatboxing and spoken word with DenMarked at the Festival Launch that includes a performance on the roof and fish and chips.

A hilariously fun and interactive show called Can’t Take My Eyes Off You will entertain audiences on Thursday, October 13.

Critically acclaimed piece of political theatre called E15 takes centre stage at the Guildhall on the Friday. It recounts the empowering story of 29 single mothers working together to save their social housing and will be British Sign Language interpreted.

The International Archive of Things Left Unsaid also begins on Friday, inviting audiences to listen to anonymous confessions and record own of your own.
On Saturday, Kid Carpet presents Super Mega Rockin’ Rock Show for kids and their not-so grown ups which has been described as the Might Boosh for children, offering anarchy irreverence and belly laughs for adults too.

Can I Help You? on Sunday, October 16 will see performance artist Rhiannon Armstrong offering her help to passers-by and in doing-so put a smile on their faces.

On the Monday, Fagin’s Twist will present their impressive and contemporary twist on Dickens’ classic novel Oliver Twist.

The festival concludes on Tuesday, October 18 with The Little Bookshop Boy by Raised Eyebrows. This charming, spellbinding show is for all who have ever worried about fitting in.
