CARS are bikes are gearing up for an action-packed weekend, the Autumn Classic Prescott Speed Hill Climb on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2.

The all-American Stars and Stripes weekend celebrates the biggest, brightest, and brashest cars this side of the pond.

The weekend always attracts a very a wide variety of competition cars competing on the historic hill climb course, plus spectacular American vehicle displays and USA-themed entertainment from the Demon Drome Wall of Death to live bands, dancers, Vegas showgirls and the Stars n’ stripes comedy stilt walkers.

The paddock will be packed with special vehicle displays include American car clubs and motorcycles from Pontiacs, Cobra’s, Hudsons, Plymouths, Mustangs, Cadillac’s, and Chevys to Flatheads, Hotrods, Fords, Indians, Harleys and Custom Choppers, plus the Orchard will host the dedicated American ‘show n’ shine’ display area.

The ‘Demon Drome Wall of Death’ always draws a crowd – and this year is sure to excite and thrill its audience.

The original 1920s stunts are reproduced by dare devil riders racing around the oldest surviving wall of death.

After the noise of the Demon Drome, visit the special display vehicles, all of which will be taking to the hill.

Making its debut at Prescott will be the Ex-Bobby Unser Penske PC7 Indy Car. The Penske family built some of the most successful and iconic cars in US racing history and the PC7 is definitely up there with the greats.

Another unusual car taking to the hill is a 1939 Chevy Coupe, designed and road raced in Argentina by Juan Manuel Fangio before he became a Formula 1. Its current owner uses it to compete in rally endurance events from the Sahara Challenge to the Peking to Paris.

A vital part of the weekend is the display of USA themed motorbikes featuring Harleys, Indian motorbikes and custom Choppers.

This year Prescott has teamed up with Classic American magazine - The UK’s No.1 American Car Magazine.

The Autumn Classic is one of the ‘heats’ for the prestigious American ‘Car of the Year’ competition. The winning car will receive a cheque for £100 and a 'Car of the Year' trophy presented by Editor Ben Klemenzson.

The heat winner will be invited to display their car on the Classic American stand at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at The NEC, Birmingham on November 11-13.

Over the weekend the cars will be judged by three independent judges and one overall champion picked. The winner will receive a cheque for £500, a prestigious hand-cast brass trophy and their car will feature on the front cover of Classic American's February issue.
