THIS weekend saw over 4,500 people descend on Manor Farm in Longdon for Livestock Festival 2016.

The sun shone on festival goers who watched Chesney Hawkes, Jason Donovan, The Fratellis, Reverend & The Makers and Reef storm the Main Stage, alongside a vibrant line up of childrens activities, a feast of food and a newly introduced Woodland Stage hosting a buzzing line up of DJs and up and coming talent.

Ben Leeke, Livestock Festival Founder, said: “What an incredible second year for Livestock Festival.

"We doubled our numbers on last year and welcomed over 4,500 people. Such a brilliant figure for a festival that’s only in it’s second year.

"We couldn’t have wished for better weather and throughout the weekend the fields were filled with families and festivalgoers enjoying the epic line up.

"Our headliners truly pulled out all the stops on all three nights and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making Livestock 2016 as fantastic as it was.

"After a long nights sleep, we’ll all be putting our heads together to make Livestock 2017 even better so watch this space.”

Kicking off the weekend, Friday evening welcomed to the stage the newly reformed Reef as they belted out a set list of indie rock hits including Place Your Hands and their newest single How I Got Over You, a cover version of the gospel classic.

Saturday evening saw Reverend & The Makers, climaxing with Heavyweight Champion of the World.

The Fratellis followed and dominated the Main Stage as hits Whistle For The Choir and Chelsea Dagger proved sensational crowd pleasers.

The third and final evening welcomed The One and Only Chesney Hawkes. Chesney’s set included festival goers being invited onto the stage to tackle the #22PushUps charity initiative, currently taking social media by storm to raise awareness for veteran suicide prevention.

Chesney was challenged to take on the feat by Olympic Boxer, Kelly Morgan, but was unable to take part due to a back injury and therefore rallied the Livestock audience.

Bringing the weekend to a close, Jason Donovan treated festivalgoers and superfans alike to a nostalgic set including Especially For You, Sealed With a Kiss, Too Many Broken Hearts and Any Dream Will Do.

Running alongside the Main Stage action was a host of children’s activities including Fizz Pop Science, Eco Animal Encounters, a climbing wall, How To Train Your Dragon workshops, kids comedy and Time Travelling Toby to name but a few.

A feast of food including Proper Kickass Burgers, Woodfired Pizzas, Lone Star Tex Mex Burritos and The Strawberry Stop kept festivalgoers well fed throughout the weekend.

The Woodland Stage, newly introduced for 2016, hosted up and coming talent including Lila J, Dry Clean Only and We Signal Fire. The Woodland Stage transformed in the evening as DJ’s mixed into early hours with a Silent Disco.
