Malmesbury

  • WOMAD begins at Charlton Park, near Malmesbury, and runs all weekend. The four-day event features the best of world music including Asian Dub Foundation, Charles Bradley and his Extraordinaires, George Clinton Parliamentary Funkadelic and Les Amazones D’Afrique. Day and weekend tickets are still available. Tetbury 

  • OPEN air performance of Robin Hood at Westonbirt School presented by Jenny Wren Productions. Jenny Wren and her Merry Men take on the infamous sheriff of Nottingham in this new adaptation of Robin Hood. As he strives to win the Golden Arrow and the hand of the valiant Maid Marian, Robin and his motley crew entertain all the family with our own brand of action and adventure. Performance 7pm – grounds open 6pm for picnics, and bar open.   • OPERA Brava present Rigoletto at the Royal Agricultural University. Cirencester

  • A FUN day is being held at Cirencester Football Club to launch The Ashley Scrivens Foundation and promote the main fundraiser of the year – a bike ride of 23 cyclists from Paris to Nice in September. Food, drink, ice cream, sports, games, sweets, cakes, raffle, face painting, mobile climbing wall, bouncy castle, farm animals and also fair ride attractions. Live music and performances. From 1-6pm.
  • WATERMOOR House Residential Care Home on Watermoor Road in Cirencester will be holding its bi-annual summer fete from 2-4pm. Stalls, crafts, books, tombola, raffle and an array of handmade items, some of them made by the residents themselves. BBQ, tea and cakes and children can try their hand at skittles. Members of the Fairford Classic Car Club will be there with their cars. Entertainment from the ukulele band ‘The Plucking Difference’. Entry is free to everyone with voluntary donations to their garden project.

Malmesbury

  • RAU Beagles open day at the kennels. Learn how to show hounds and join in a beagles walkout about 3pm. There will be a BBQ, bar, face-painting and puppy cuddles, all ages welcome.

Tetbury

  • THE sixth Tetbury open gardens day will take place from 2-6pm. Tickets cost £5 giving entry to all nine gardens; four of which are open to the general public for the first time. Tickets can be bought on the day, from any of the gardens or from the market house where maps will be provided.
