THE Brewery Blues in Cirencester will be getting into the summer spirit with an evening of great dance music from Ricky Cool And The In Crowd on Friday, August 5.

Ricky Cool And The In Crowd’s music is rooted in the traditions of New Orleans, Texas, Chicago and Jamaica.

It’s delivered with style and panache by some of the Midland’s top musicians (The In Crowd) and Ricky Cool, who has long been regarded as one of the most entertaining, charismatic frontmen in the business.

Ricky has an unrivalled reputation for delivering great dance music.

As well as fronting his own bands like The Icebergs and The Big Town Playboys he’s also worked with people like Robert Plant, Mike Sanchez and Kingston Jamaican legend George Nightingale.

The line-up includes Ricky himself on vocals, harmonica and saxes, Ted Bunting (sax and vocals) who has played alongside Alexis Korner, Paul Kossoff, Arthur Brown, Polystyrene and X-Ray Specs.

John Potter (double bass) once of King Pleasure & the Biscuit Boys and John Parry (guitar), one time member of reggae masters Steel Pulse. Nigel Darvill (keys), once of Edwin Starr’s band, Fine Young Cannibals, Ruby Turner and The Beat, and Harry Weston-Cottrell (Drums) ex-Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Support comes from The Big Brunch Band who are a 20 plus strong 'explosion of sound' playing a mixture of big band jazz, film, funk and tap, with velvet vocals and horns as bold as brass.

At full strength they are an American Big Band line up (three trombones, four trumpets, two alto sax, two tenor sax, baritone sax, guitar, keys, bass, drums and vocals).

Formed in 2005, they come from Ashton Keynes, Minety, Crudwell, Cirencester and South Cerney and have played many festivals including Lechlade, Marlborough Jazz, Cheltenham Jazz and Stroud Music festival.
