THE Le Page Ensemble return to Stroud, performing at St Laurence’ Church on Saturday 9th July, at 7.30 pm.
In a fascinating and beautiful weave of music with readings from French writer and pioneering aviator, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the evening explores the pre-war world of the pioneer pilot - when to be a pilot was a thing of wonder.
Wind, Sand and Stars journeys from the velvet minimalist chords of Satie to the brightly polished and exquisite whirring world of Ravel; from the exotic flavours of Debussy to the grit and pathos of Montmartre Chanson.
Tickets (£15, under 18’s free of charge) are available from the Stroud Subscription Rooms Box Office (01453 760900), and the Star Anise Arts Cafe.
