THE Fringe Family Day is set to return to Cirencester on Saturday, June 25 from 1-7:30pm at St Michael's Park, raising funds for the Phoenix Festival that takes place in the Abbey Grounds in August.

The event, already predicted to exceed last year’s footfall of over 3,000 visitors, is much more than an important fundraiser for The Phoenix Music Festival.

The Fringe Family Day is a unique one day event with something for everyone to enjoy from live music, trade and food stalls, and a licensed bar to a choice of fun activities for the kids.

Kelly Keen, the event coordinator said: “The Fringe is like a mini-Phoenix festival giving us all an exciting taster of what the town can look forward to when the main event takes place in the Abbey grounds on the August bank holiday weekend.

"In June we have a wide variety of music with seven bands and a dance troupe already signed up to play and some really great entertainment for the children including pony rides, a petting farm and some mini fair rides.

“We want this event to be even better than last year as it helps to raise essential funds for Phoenix,” said Kelly.

“So we need as many people as possible to put Saturday, June 25 on their calendars and either pack a picnic or simply come and enjoy the delights of over 15 stalls including some delicious food and drink.”

Glen Moreman, festival organiser, added: “The money from the pre-festival events like the Fringe Family Day make all the difference to ensuring Cirencester keeps its free music festival and ensuring that it continues to develop and meet the needs of our local community.”

Businesses can also take the opportunity, as they do with the main Phoenix Festival, to use the Fringe to get their products and services noticed in the local area through competitive sponsorship packages, as well as donations which can be used in the raffle and tombola.
