Cirencester

  • CLASSICAL Reflection at Holy Trinity Church, Watermoor. Since appearing on BBC One’s The Voice, the duo have had two songs composed for them by number one British composer, Christopher Broom, produced a Christmas CD and a debut album entitled, The Vow. The duo will sing songs from this album along with many other classical songs and West End musicals and will be joined by rising tenor star Sean Chriscole and talented students from Cirencester Deer Park School. Refreshments by CHYP (Cirencester Housing for Young People). Tickets are £12, children 18 and under £6) and can be purchased from Cirencester Visitor Information Centre, 01285 654180 or on the door.
  • The Hunter from Naukratis at the Corinium Museum is a spotlight display developed by the British Museum to explore the encounter between ancient civilisations from Egypt to Rome. Opens today and runs until Sunday, July 17.

Tetbury

  • THE library will be hosting 'Grow' which will be a free plant swap from 10am-1pm. Bring along your surplus plants/seedlings/seeds/bulbs etc and take home something news. Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust will have a stall there and will be giving information on their nature reserves and tips about how to make your garden more wildlife friendly.

  • THERE will be a town walk around historic Cirencester every Sunday and Bank Holiday until September. Meet at the Church porch in the Market Place at 3pm, lasts 70 minutes, £2 adults/concessions free. Suitable for children and disabled.

  • OPEN Gardens Day. Eight beautiful gardens will be open from 2pm-5.30pm. A plant stall opposite the River Coln, and teas in the village hall. £5 ticket entrance for all gardens, accompanied children free. Proceeds for village hall funds. Parking available.

Tetbury

  • THE Woolsack Races take place and there is something for all the family. At 10am the street fair and fun fair will be open along with various street performers. A wide selection of local stores and the French market will also be there. Something new this year will be a cycling sprint where competitors will cycle up Gumstool Hill carrying wool sacks, commencing at 11.30am. At 12.15pm there will be the children’s wool sack race. At 1pm there will be a wool sack auction and at 2pm the main event, the world famous Tetbury wool sack races. There will also be guided tours of St Mary’s Church bell tower which give magnificent views of the races.
  • BANK Holiday Market in the Goods Shed featuring food, jewellery, memorabilia and refreshments. Free long stay car park, 10am-4.30pm. For more information visit tetburyraillands.com.
  • VINTAGE and Craft fair at Dolphins Hall from 10am-4pm. Stalls, live entertainment and homemade refreshments. Entry, £1 for adults and children free.

South Cerney 

  • Village Fair and Duck Race. Numerous stalls including many serving food plus live bands and entertainment will fill the village centre on the Bank Holiday Monday with the duck race taking place at 3.30pm that afternoon. This promises to be the biggest ever held with an estimated one hundred stalls and attractions including music, food, refreshments and other entertainments. There will be car parking at the nearby South Cerney army camp airfield with a free vintage shuttle bus in operation.

  • THE Corinium Museum is hosting a series of events to accompany their special exhibit of The Hunter from Naukratis which is a spotlight display from the British Museum. The two events today are Hunting Dogs Family Drop-in from 10-11am and Roman Statues Discovery Zone, 11-12.30pm followed by Diana and Actaeon Masks Family Drop-in on Wednesday, June 1, 10-11am. Entry is free. For more information visit coriniummuseum.org
