BREWERY Blues is hosting a solo performance from British Blues Award Nominee (2010-15) Dale Storr at The Kings Head hotel in Cirencester on Friday, June 3.

This promises to be a rare treat for lovers of authentic jazz, blues and boogie-woogie piano.

Dale Storr's musical journey began in rural Lincolnshire, and then took him to Yorkshire on the way to his own musical Mecca, New Orleans. He began playing piano at the tender age of six, listening to the music of Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino and the piano style of Floyd Cramer.

Eventually his playing ability took him to Sheffield where he began gigging with rock'n'blues legend, Frank White and 60's icon Dave Berry, American Soul star Earl Thomas, Texas guitar legend Rocky Athas, and US R&B giant Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridges.

He supported the New Orleans stomper Henry Butler and music from that city became his passion.

Having honed his art in solo gigging, he added another dimension to his performance by developing his own unique vocal style, which is very reminiscent of his main influence ‘Mac’ Dr John.

He also performs regularly with a full line-up consisting of the cream of the British Blues & Jazz scene with drums, bass and horns.

He has become an ambassador of New Orleans boogie-woogie honky-tonk piano.

On the night there will be support from Stroud's talented acoustic jazz and funk duo Lewis & Dav.
