MUSIC of a different genre will be coming to Malmesbury as top grunge covers band Wilf are hosting a free gig in the town.
The band will be performing hits by Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and other top grunge artists at the Kings Arms on Friday, May 20.
The band admit that grunge probably isn’t the first thing to spring to mind when thinking about music in Malmesbury but they’ve received fantastic receptions wherever they’ve played.
“People love those big hits from the 90s and beyond, grunge created some great bands which produced some brilliant songs” said singer Simon Temperton.
Originally formed in East London in the early 1990s Wilf gained recognition with gig goers at legendary venues such as the Ruskin Arms and The Square.
Having gone their separate ways, founding members John Maggs (guitar) and Simon Temperton (vocals, guitar) re-formed the band in the West Country after a 20 year hiatus.
Now backed by the driving rhythm section of Andy Nicholas (bass, vocals) and Nick Clinch (drums), these four experienced musicians have enjoyed great success wherever they’ve played in the region.
