TETBURY Lions will be holding their annual Wacky Races soapbox derby on Bank Holiday Monday, May 2.
Practice sessions start at around 10am and racing starts at approximately 1pm.
The course runs down Chipping Street turning a sharp hairpin bend in front of the Royal Oak public house to finish on Millennium Green.
Competitors can expect to reach speeds of up to 30 mph.
After the practice session each of the 35 competitors must complete two timed runs, the aggregate time of each will determine final race positions.
Each driver will receive a medal and trophies will be awarded to the fastest adult team, the fastest youth team and the team that has the wackiest vehicle.
The event is already established as a major visitor attraction and a premier fundraising event for Tetbury Lions.
In addition to the races, refreshments and entertainment will be available at both the start and finish areas.
Funds raised will be going towards replacing the wheelchair accessible vehicle that is available to all residents in the town.
