THE organisers of Lakefest have revealed that Cast are the final headline act to be announced at Lakefest 2016, alongside Primal Scream and We Are Scientists.

Returning for its fifth consecutive year, the family-friendly festival will be held in the grounds of the magical Eastnor Castle, near Ledbury, from August 11-14.

Cast originally formed in 1992 from the ashes of two of the most legendary and lauded guitar bands of all time, The La’s and Shack.

They released four albums; their debut, ‘All Change’, being the biggest selling debut album of all time for Polydor Records, their second album, ‘Mother Nature Calls’, went platinum.

The original line-up of John Power (guitar/vocals), Liam ‘Skin’ Tyson (lead guitar), Pete Wilkinson (bass) and Keith O’Neill (drums) have reunited with original producer John Beckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead) for ‘Troubled Times’.

The reinvigorated band have produced an album full of the anthemic, melodic and beautifully written songs for which they have always been loved by their fervent fanbase.

Lee Martin, Lakefest Director, said: “We are thrilled to announce Cast as a headline act for Lakefest 2016.

"The team are dedicated to creating an eclectic line-up for this year, and I’m so excited to share this latest news with our loyal supporters.

"Lakefest 2015 exceeded all of our expectations and was a staggering success for the team and we are, therefore, determined to make Lakefest 2016 even better than previous years.

"It really is a dream come true to be able to take the festival forward in such an immense way.”
