PANCAST Poductions are preparing to celebrate their third anniversary with an evening of entertainment at The Barn Theatre, Cirencester, on Saturday, April 2.

In 2013, Carl Pawlowski (Pavo) and Neil Marlarkey produced their first podcast, Movie Heaven, which featured guests talking about the films that have shaped their lives.

As the podcast found a growing audience, including listeners in the US and Russia, the pair decided to start a second, this time focusing on music.

Live@TheShed showcases both local, national and international musical talent, with the mini gig’s and entertaining conversations, giving Pancast a place on the local music scene.

Regular guests include Ethemia, The Black Feathers and Dealer, while the podcast’s success saw Pavo and Neil become involved in The Phoenix Festival, conducting backstage interviews and hosting acoustic shows.

Three years later and Pancast now host nine podcasts, including putting films on trial in Movie Court, checking out restaurants, with musician Charlie Ann, in Pan V Food and discussing the latest movie news with friend, Laura Rettie, in The Pancast Movie Show.

Through the use of Skype, the pair have interviewed people from around the world, although one American fan, Catherine Hefferan, travelled from Washington D.C. to appear on Movie Heaven, also taking the opportunity to see Benedict Cumberbatch in Hamlet.

Interviewee’s include The Walking Dead’s Ann Mahoney, Empire Magazine’s Chris Hewitt and Simon Pegg’s brother Mike.

Pancast is continuing to grow, averaging 7,500 listens per podcast a month, expanding to become Pancast Poductions Network and hosting content for other up and coming podcasters on their website.

“What we have achieved, we are proud of it, to have kept it going”, said Pavo. “We have not been complacent about it, it’s hard work and we put in the hours and dedication.”

“It’s a very rewarding process”, added Neil. “We are not flippant about our success. We’re not trained, we learnt our craft and at the beginning we were all a bit over the place, but we’ve tightened things up a bit”.

The anniversary show is an opportunity for Pancast to thank both their fans and guests for continuing to support.

This year’s event features music from Kristy Clinch, Rob Richings, Emi McDade, Aren E. Elvis Tribute, as well as stand-up from Becky Brumming. Tickets costs £7.50 are available via email pancast@live.com
