THE ARTS Centre in Swindon and The Wyvern Theatre will play host to two recitals in Februaryas part of the Swindon Recital Series.

On Sunday, February 7 mezzo soprano Clare McCaldin and pianist Paul Turner will perform Haydn’s London Ladies at The Arts Centre.

London Ladies tells the story of four women who inspired Haydn’s music during his two visits to London.

In addition to various of Haydn’s Canzonettas and a complete performance of his cantata Arianna a Naxos the recital includes solo piano music and songs composed by one of the four women, Harriet Abrams.

On Wednesday, February 17 Marlborough-born pianist Hamish Brown will be spanning the centuries at a lunchtime concert at The Wyvern Theatre as he presents music from three composers from the 1820s to the 1980s.

Schubert, Dutilleux and Rachmaninoff will all be celebrated at this lunchtime concert.

Hamish is supported by Knights of the Round Table.

  •  Haydn’s London Ladies will be performed at the Arts Centre, Swindon on Sunday, February 7 at 3pm. Tickets are £12, seniors £10, students £2.50, accompanied children 14 and under admitted free.
  • The lunchtime concert takes place at the Wyvern Theatre, Swindon on Wednesday February 17, 1.05-2pm. Tickets are £5 or £8.50 with tea and cake.
