UNIQUE musician Richard Navarro and his co-performer Nicholas Thurston will be appearing at Oaksey Village Hall on Saturday, February 27.

Evocative and uplifting, the music of Richard Navarro takes the folk traditions of melody and storytelling and supercharges them through live looping and improvisation.

As regular tour support for Joan Armatrading, 2015 saw Richard and bassist Nicholas Thurston tour England and Scotland including shows at Leeds Opera House, Brighton Theatre Royal, Edinburgh Fringe-By-The-Sea and numerous smaller venues and festivals across the UK.

In 2016 Richard will launch a new collection of songs at the Gulbenkian Theatre in Canterbury before touring with his duo across the UK and stopping off at Oaksey.

The songs – mostly co-written with his double bassist Nicholas Thurston – combine lyricism and social commentary with violins, infectious bass lines and percussion.

The pair's live show features visuals including illustrations and animations by bassist Nicholas, specially written for the songs.
