AN exclusive range of Star Wars artwork is available to buy at Cheltenham’s Castle Fine Art Gallery ahead of the release of The Force Awakens.

Washington Green, the UK’s leading fine art publisher, have released six iconic Star Wars Marvel comic book covers as limited edition prints which were produced in collaboration with Marvel’s fine art publisher, Choice Fine Art and Acme Archives.

Marvel’s Star Wars series, published between 1977-1986, was the first official comic book adaptation of Star Wars and was a huge success upon release.

The limited edition art pay tribute to some of the franchise’s most memorable characters including Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.

Each piece of artwork has been hand signed by the comic book writer, editor and former chairman of Marvel comics Stan Lee.

Lee, who led the expansion of Marvel comics, joined forces with George Lucas to produce the Star Wars comics after the success of the first film at the box office.

Martin Jepson, Gallery Manager for Cheltenham’s Castle Fine Art, said: “Our Marvel artwork release continues to be best sellers for Castle Galleries, and with the much anticipated launch of The Force Awakens, we expect this series of signed limited edition works to fly off the shelves.

“Marvel and Star Wars are two iconic brands which have individually had a huge impact on today’s popular culture.

“This collection of iconic comic book covers celebrates one of the most famous film franchises of all time and encapsulates the battle between good and evil which both Star Wars and Marvel are recognised for.

“It will appeal to both art collectors and fans of Star Wars alike, giving people a chance to own their own piece of comic book history.”
