CIRENCESTER performing arts academy StageSmart are planning to bring the community together this Christmas for a night of festive theatrical fun, including mince pies, mulled wine and Santa Claus, at the town's Bingham Hall on Monday, December 21 .

The team that put on the hugely successful summer musical The Clockmaker's Daughter, will be producing their first ever Cirencester Christmas Spectacular with a stellar line-up, with all profits from ticket sales ticket sales are being donated to the local charity The National Star foundation.

This is a chance to see West End stars Olivia Brereton (leading lady of Phantom of the Opera) and West End leading man Louis Maskell (Tony, West Side Story) and international opera singer Maria Jagusz and her troupe of young performers MJ-UK Music & Arts.

At the heart of the evening is the local community and there will be performances from the StageSmart Academy, Ukulele group Plucking Different, local singer songwriter Leon Daye and the chance to see new writing from Russell and Henry Blackaller.

There will be many more professional and local variety and music acts still to be confirmed.

The evening will be hosted by StageSmart founder and West End actor Iwan Lewis (Les Miserables film and musicals Legally Blonde, Godspell, Passion, Fame!).

And for those looking to do some last minute Christmas shopping, there will even be a chance to visit the show's very own Christmas market with a range of stalls to raise money for good causes.

There will be also be a bar, mulled wine, a Christmas cracker raffle, candy canes, a photo booth, a giant advent calendar, mince pies with a whole lot of Christmas cheer. Not forgetting Santa's Grotto.

StageSmart founder Iwan Lewis said: "After my visit to National Star's creative arts department in Ullenwood near Cheltenham, I was blown away with the incredible work that they do.

"I founded StageSmart last year to show everyone how powerful the performing arts can be in helping to develop young people. National Star's Creative arts department proves this every day with their miraculous work, I am proud that we are able to support them this Christmas".
