A STAR studded Christmas concert has been announced by the HELP appeal charity at Tewkesbury Abbey on Thursday, December 3 at 7.30pm The concert will help to raise much needed funds for the only charity in the country dedicated to building hospital helipads across the country.

There is also a chance to dine with the stars afterwards.

The line up of guest readers include Countryfile presenter, Adam Henson; Pam Ayres and Channel Four News’ Matt Frei.

Soprano Nicki Kennedy, Contralto Katrina Hicks Beach, Trumpeter Gavin Wells and Tewkesbury Abbey Schola Cantorum will also be performing.

Adam Henson said: “I’m grateful to have the opportunity to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause while taking part in what is set to be an atmospheric and moving night of Christmas music and readings against the charismatic backdrop of Tewkesbury Abbey. It will be a wonderful way to start the festive season.”

Michael Henriques, HELP Appeal Trustee said: “For a seriously ill patient being airlifted to hospital, landing on a helipad beside A&E increases their chances of surviving and making a full recovery.

“Whilst this is set to be a very enjoyable evening, we must not forget that the money raised from this concert will go some way to building more helipads across the country. I hope we can pack Tewkesbury Abbey to the rafters.”
