STUDENTS at Cirencester College will be performing their very own brand new musical version of Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach at Cirencester’s Sundial Theatre in December.
Their original take on this classic story is called Peach’d and it will be on Wednesday, December 9 and Thursday, December 10.
Special permission was granted to Cirencester College students by the Roald Dahl Estate, enabling Peach’d to go ahead.
Peach’d has been instigated, lead, written and directed by about 30 students as part of their enrichment programme, which extends them beyond the curriculum.
The venture has been wholeheartedly supported by staff, keen to see their students taking control of all aspects of the production.
The Sundial Theatre team, lead by Steve Moyse, helps to support a range of productions over the year, some in conjunction with The National Theatre and The Edinburgh Festival.
The team includes several students who raise money and market the shows.
Peach’d is the first of a series of three productions to be produced during this academic year.
- Tickets are available on The Sundial Theatre website or phone the box office 01285 654228. If you wish to help fund the project go to the web site gofundme.com/peachd
