A ONE day art event is happening this Saturday at New Life Church in Cirencester from 10am-4pm.

In what is possibly Love Lane’s first art exhibition, artists David and Alison Thistlethwaite, whose studio and home are in Woodmancote, will be showing a variety of work including both abstracts and landscapes by Alison, and landscapes and portraits by David.

A particular theme is old farm buildings, including an old farm near Edgeworth, and Old Park Farm at Woodmancote.

A new portrait of Kola Tayo, pastor of New Life Church and a popular local character in Cirencester, has been painted specially for the exhibition by David.

David said: “Spending time with Kola making this picture has been some of the most fun I have had in the year.”

Alison has exhibited her abstracts at some of the great British cathedrals such as York Minster.

In this exhibition she is showing smaller scale works on paper with some larger canvases. Many of them have spiritual themes.

David is also showing a new portrait of Alison.

  • The exhibition is open on Saturday, October 3 at New Life Church, 14 Wilkinson Road (opposite Motaquip and APD), GL7 1YT from 10am-4pm. All welcome. Admission free.
