MULTI-award winning wildlife photographer, cameraman and explorer Doug Allan has embarked on a UK tour of Life Behind The Lens and will be stopping off at The Sundial Theatre in Cirencester in November.

Doug Allan is one of the world’s most respected and experienced wildlife and natural history cameramen.

He has been filming for David Attenborough and producing his own wildlife documentaries for many years and has been awarded the Polar Medal twice by the Queen.

His expertise at both poles have made him a popular and charismatic speaker.

His talk is hugely entertaining with tales of being pawed by polar bears and dragged under water by a hungry sea lion.

He also touches on the more serious topics of the decline of the landscapes in Antarctica and our oceans Coral Reefs.

Doug also shares his recollections about his time working with Sir David Attenborough in some of the most remote places on the planet.

With over 25 years’ first-hand experience of the Arctic, he has witnessed first-hand the effects of the decreasing sea ice on the populations of polar bears and other sea mammals.

Doug is well known for both his award winning camera work and his appearances in popular BBC series, such as The Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Life, Human Planet and Frozen Planet.

He was a presenter on Ocean Giants and Operation Iceberg.

Often exciting, sometimes humorous, always revealing and refreshingly honest, his Life Behind the Lens tour offers unique personal insights into the challenges of filming animals in the wildest places on Earth, and the challenges they face for survival.

Doug’s presentation also includes mesmerising footage and remarkable photographs from his trips that also feature in his book ‘Freeze Frame’, about his life as a polar cameraman.
