ORGANISERS of the Summer off the Streets programme across the Cotswolds are delighted with the amount of interest so far in paid-for events and pre-booking events – and some are already full.

Workshops and events are taking place at venues across the Cotswolds over the school holidays.

There is still time to sign up for most of the activities on offer, including the following two workshops taking place in Cirencester in the first week:

  • ManiAniPop! Multi Media Workshop – 22 July at Cirencester College. Time: 10am-1pm, Age: 8-12 years (£15).

Manipulate, Animate, and Populate your images on the web using state-of-the-art Apple Mac computers and professional software. You will then create interactive images and simple animations with which to populate your own self-published website.

  • ‘Touch Tennis’ – 24 July at the Tennis Academy, St Michael's Park, Cirencester Time: 10 am – 12 noon, Age: 8 years plus (£6) 'Touch Tennis' is about using deft stroke-play and chess-like manoeuvres and is played on a reduced size court with foam balls and 21 inch racquets.

Suitable for all levels or play from ages 8 and up. All equipment provided.

There are also many free activities on offer for children, young people and families - and, most of them do not require booking.

These include family fun days at Walnut Tree Field, Fairford on Thursday, July 30, Naight Park, Bourton on Friday, July 31, South Cerney scout hall on Friday, August 14 , and King George’s Field, Stow on Friday, August 21. The programme is run by Cotswold District Council in partnership with creative arts and community organisation World Jungle.
