THE summer exhibition at New Brewery Arts in Cirencester is The Names of The Hare.

Opening on Saturday, July 1, the exhibition will form part of the popular Cirencester Hare Festival.

This well loved creature of the English countryside has inspired artists down the centuries. The exhibition title is taken from a middle English poem of the same name (translated by Seamus Heaney).

New Brewery Arts has invited its favourite artists and makers from around the UK to share work featuring the hare.

This mixed media show will include evocative paintings and prints, exquisite jewellery, textiles and felt, stunning ceramics, wood, wire and metal sculpture, engaging books and much more.

Each artist has their own reason for using the hare as inspiration and muse and Cirencester’s artistic hub will be sharing their stories.

The Names of the Hare features 28 artists and makers.
