The following gardens are open for the National Open Gardens scheme:
Friday, June 26.
- Snowshill Manor & Gardens, near Stow-on-the-Wold. Wander round this Arts & Crafts garden and enjoy the simple, colourful plantings which tumble and scramble down the terraces and around byres. Open 11am- 5pm.
Sunday, June 28.
- Beverston Castle, near Tetbury. Herbaceous borders and shrubberies packed with colourful planting. A planted paved terrace leads down from the 18th-century house and is overlooked by the ruin of a 12-17th-century castle. Open 2- 5.30pm. Teas and teas will be served. Dogs on leads are welcome.
- Moor Wood, Woodmancote, near Cirencester. Susie and Henry Robinson hold the National Collection of Rambler Roses, which will be filling the garden with their scent. There are two acres of shrub, orchard and wildflower gardens in a beautiful valley setting. Open from 2-6pm.
- Sezincote, near Moreton-in-Marsh. Designed by Humphry Repton, the oriental water garden at Sezincote surrounds an Indian-style house, both of them surprising set amid the Cotswold hills. Open from 2-6pm.
- Herbs for Healing, Claptons Lane, behind Barnsley House Hotel. The creation of Davina Wynn-Jones, daughter of Rosemary Verey. Her unique nursery specialises in medicinal herbs and the tranquil, organic garden is set in a secluded field tucked behind what was her mother’s garden. Open from 2-5pm.
