COTSWOLD Open Studios first weekend sales have reached over £4,000, with one of the newer artists selling over £2,000 of work on one day.

Those who have not yet visited the studios around the Cotswolds still have plenty of time to do so, as they are open for the next two weekends.

Charlotte Hill, manager of the Wetpaint Gallery and proprietor or Artventure, is running the Cotswold Open Studios this year. She said: “The open studios are a chance to see the talent of local artists right on your doorstep.

“Viewing high quality artwork in beautiful studios you wouldn’t know exist, it’s a chance to find the hidden talents who live right around the corner.

“This year we have many new artists as well as returning ones. It is great news to hear one of our newer artists has sold over £2,000 worth of work in one day.”

The open studios are open for another two weekends on June 20 and 21 and Jubne 27 and 28 from 10am-4pm.

Many of the artists are offering a look around the gardens, some refreshments, a demonstration of work as well as a chance to make your own masterpiece.

There is also a group exhibition at Cirencester’s Wetpaint Gallery – next to Beeches Car Park, where you can have a look at examples of all of the work that is on offer and collect your open studios guide.

Brochures are also available in most good local pubs, restaurants and hotels and details are also on-line at www.cotswoldopenstudios.com or contact Charlotte Hill for more information on 07724 733159 orcotswoldopenstudios@gmail.com
