NO FILM has captured the hearts of a generation like Dirty Dancing.

With the 30th anniversary on the horizon, The Bacon Theatre in Cheltenham is delighted to invite audiences to take a trip back to the summer of ’63 and relive Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey’s ultimate coming of age romance in this timeless theatrical treat, A Night of Dirty Dancing on Thursday, May 7.

This is the ultimate musical tribute show to an entertainment phenomenon that grossed $214 million at the worldwide box office and became the first film to sell more than a million copies on home video.

An even greater success story of course was the film’s soundtrack, which sold 32 million copies and spent 18 weeks at number 1 in the United States making it one of the best-selling albums of all time.

A Night of Dirty Dancing is set at Kellerman’s end of season show with a full live band performing all the great tracks from the movie.

Frances “Baby” Houseman and Johnny Castle take to the stage with slickly choreographed dance routines that will allow audiences to relive the passion and indulge in the romance of the incredible Dirty Dancing musical repertoire: She’s Like the Wind, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Hey Baby, Wipe-out, Do You Love Me, Be My Baby, Hungry Eyes and, of course, the Oscar winning, The Time of My Life.

Speaking for the Bacon Theatre, Jess Waterman said: “Recast and re-scripted for 2015, this highly anticipated live music event will be bound to have everyone dancing in the aisles and having ‘the time of their lives’.”
