ARTVENTURE@Wetpaint hosted one of its first events at the new Wetpaint Gallery space in Cirencester – a beer tasting – put on by Charles Mallet of Force Brewery in Love Lane.

Visitors came to enjoy the fine taste of handcrafted beer, made locally by Charles in Cirencester, as well as looking at artwork sold by Wetpaint Gallery.

Wetpaint Gallery, Cirencester’s contemporary art venue, has teamed up with Artventure, a new business specialising in art events and exhibitions, creating Artventure @ Wetpaint.

To establish a new direction for this new destination, Artventure is organising a diverse range of events alongside exhibitions.

Currently exhibiting a Modern British show, put on by Wetpaint Gallery, featuring some of the best names in Modern British Art, this exhibition includes iconic images by Bridget Riley, Sir Terry Frost, Sandra Blow and David Hockney.

Also on show is a selection of collectable prints by Sir Peter Blake, the Godfather of British Pop Art.

The exhibition is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am- 5pm, until Saturday 25 April.

The fun and informative beer tasting by Charles Mallet from Force Brewery went into detail about beer’s place in society today and how we got there - why Force Brewery exists and what it does - what beers are brewed and how the colours, strengths, flavours and aromas are achieved.

Each ingredient was available to taste and smell with tastings of all four beers. Charles is also offering a ‘bring you own vinyl’ night at Force Brewery, every Friday 2 – 9pm inviting people to bring their own music and sample his fantastic beer for £2 a pint.

The next exhibition at Artventure @ Wetpaint will be a mixed ceramic show featuring work from local ceramicists, April 29 – May 16, gallery open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm. A special body painting event, with Mona Turnbull will be on Saturday, May 2.

Private view Thursday 30 April, 6 - 9pm.
