THE legendary Andy Fairweather Low and his Low Riders take to the stage in Stow-on-the-Wold on Saturday, April 18 at St. Edward’s Church, before supporting Eric Clapton at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Before they play their part in celebrating Clapton’s 70th birthday next month at Madison Square Garden, Andy Fairweather Low and The Low Riders are bringing their own brand of rock and roll, soul, blues and country to St Edward’s Church.

Throughout his momentous career, Fairweather Low has also played with Bob Dylan, Elton John, Jimi Hendrix, and hundreds more.

Cardiff-born Fairweather Low originally came to fame as vocalist and leader of the pop group Amen Corner.

The band had four Top 30 hits, and a solo career spawned more hits. In the mid-1980s he became the ultimate Guitarist to the Stars, building an extraordinary reputation that has endured to this day.

A fixture in Eric Clapton’s band since the early-1990s, he toured with the legend until 2003 and was also asked to be part of Clapton’s UK tour in 2009.

In 2007, Fairweather Low formed The Low Riders - Paul Beavis (Drums), Dave Bronze (Bass & Vocals) and Nick Pentelow (Sax and Clarinet) and has been touring regularly in the UK, Europe and Japan.

Following the two nights in New York, the band support Clapton again for a seven-night run in London’s Royal Albert Hall.
