THE year 2015 marks many important anniversaries in relation to “Our Greatest Briton”, Sir Winston Churchill.

These include the 50th anniversary of his death, the 75th anniversary of his first becoming Prime Minister and the 75th anniversary of his “Finest Hour” at the Battle of Britain. To honour this commemorative year, Blenheim Palace will be host to a range of activities and events dedicated to Churchill and his era, which spanned the best part of a century.

The palace will reopen on February 14 with the reinvigorated permanent Churchill exhibition that takes you on the journey of his life, starting with his birth at Blenheim Palace, featuring the many accolades he achieved, the proposal to his wife Clementine and his final days. The exhibition will be brought to life with new photographs, extracts from his diaries, artefacts and a number of other never-before-seen elements, giving visitors a real sense of our “Greatest Briton.” A palace, park and gardens ticket or valid annual pass is required to experience this exhibition.

The Walk in Churchill’s Footsteps Trail, also available from February 14, will share with you some of the key moments in his life, from the room in which he was born, through the grounds he explored as a child and the spot in which he proposed, to his place of rest in St Martin’s church yard in the neighbouring village of Bladon.
