SWEEP away the winter blues with a week of toe-tapping music at Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre.

The magic of Roy Orbison is recreated by Barry Steele in his spectacular tribute to The Big O on Tuesday, February 10. Featuring classic Orbison hits from the 1960s through to the late 1980s he uses both live and original film footage from the era, backed by his fabulous band.

Add to the mix special star guests paying homage to Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis you have yourself a spectacular fusion of rock ‘n’ roll and contemporary musical genius all on one stage.

On Wednesday, February 11 prepare to party and shake a tail feather or two with Jake and Elwood for The Best Blues Brothers Show in the World – Ever! Sing-a-long, with such classic hits such as Everybody, Soul Man, Mustang Sally, Midnight Hour, Do You Love Me, Rawhide and many more.

And on Thursday, February 12, the Everyman welcomes the return of the Johnny Cash Roadshow; the only show to be endorsed by the Cash family.

The UK’s number one tribute, Clive John, recreates with astounding accuracy and truly captures the essence of what it was like to be at a real Cash show. Clive has produced a number of albums and his latest album The Spirit has been acclaimed by the music industry and recently nominated for Best British Country Album. The show also features Jill Schoonjans as June Carter; Amanda Stone and Louise Masters as the Carter Sisters along with the JC Horns.

The show takes the audience from the 1950s right up to 2002 and all the stops in between. All the greatest hits are included, along with songs from Out Among the Stars, a posthumous studio album from Johnny Cash, released through Legacy Recordings last year. The recordings come from lost 1980s sessions which were shelved by Columbia Records, and discovered by Cash’s son John Carter Cash in 2012.

All this accompanied by evocative screen images and shots from Johnny Cash’s life.
