The Shoes and the Elf Maker - Everything was relatively quiet for Ruby and Poppers until the arrival of a new shoe factory. All of a sudden their friends start to disappear and one day Poppers disappears too! They are taken on an unforgettable journey of shoes, a magic machine and Elves in order to discover the truth and set things right The bi-annual pantomime staged by the South Cerney Players is always eagerly anticipated and this year is no exception; written and directed by Laura Amy Pitts, herself a previous panto performer for the Players, The Shoes and The Elf Maker is Laura’s first foray into Pantomime. But she’s no stranger to being on the other side of the boards having written and directed a murder/mystery play that was performed outdoors in the grounds of Cirencester Opportunity Group last summer.

Alongside thirty local children aged between 5 and 15 who are involved in The Shoes and The Elf Maker, there is an adult cast whose experience varies from having performed in a dozen pantos to those treading the boards for the first time. Behind the scenes is an experienced stage team who always deliver a superb production.

There are 10 musical numbers in the panto, which along with the acting and singing, also involves dancing, physical theatre and shadow puppetry – there really is something for everyone.

The Shoes and the Elf Maker premieres on Wednesday 26th November 2014 at 7.30pm in South Cerney Village Hall and runs through to Saturday 29th November.
