THE final show in Brewery Blues Autumn Blues Trilogy features one of the hottest properties on the current UK blues circuit, as well as a world known rock diva from the past.

Headliner Matt Woosey is the master of the slap and pick school of guitar playing, with a voice that mirrors the hard living persona of his material like a shot of elicit moonshine hooch.

He is the modern day incarnation of the itinerant Delta bluesman of the 30s and 40s.

But instead of roaming dusty tracks from juke joint to juke joint, this troubadour journeys between appearances on Dutch television; featuring on Paul Jones’s weekly blues show on BBC Radio 2 to headlining slots at Ronnie Scott’s and the famous 100 Club in London.

With tours in Europe, South Africa and Australia already under his belt he has expanded his fan base both at home and far and wide in the last year.

His stand-out song writing ability and relentless rhythmic style combines acoustic blues, folk and rock genres, focusing strongly on fusing the message of the lyrics with compelling, sometimes dark undertones.

Matt’s most recent album Wildest Dreams ranges from ethereal folk numbers to Pink Floyd-esque vibes and from Rumours-era Fleetwood Mac to full-on down-home blues riffs.

The songs are performed with a free flowing ease which glides across genre shifts effortlessly.

He appears for us as the The Matt Woosey Band featuring Dave Small (percussionist and singer) and are guaranteed to kick up a storm.

The Wirebirds are a constantly evolving entity; having started life as a blues band they now incorporate elements of rock, West Coast psychedelia, and modern dance music. The line-up includes Allan Stroud on guitar and vocals, Jay Myrdal on harmonica and vocal, Darren Hopkins on drums and Dave Smith on bass.

Jenny Haan, once of mega blues/rockers Babe Ruth is the latest recruit, her powerful and passionate vocals are the cherry on the cake.

The distinctive Nu R&B of The Wirebirds is based on a deep rhythmic groove coupled with the extraordinary range and power of Jenny’s voice.

Antoine Architeuthis is a singer/songwriter from Salisbury. Using the Irish bouzouki, he creates his own brand of folk, based on influences from Pentangle, Fairport Convention, as well as taking snippets from worldwide cultural music. From the energetic and uplifting to sombre and reflective, Antoine is always entertaining, in this his second performance at the Brewery he is sure to wow the audience once again.
