A GROUP of seven Cirencester College Performing Arts and A-level drama students are looking forward to making their stage debut at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe to perform Scandimania: Gods of Ice and Fire.

The show is the second production by The Sundial Theatre Company, a student-led company that was set up in September 2013.

Their first production, The Tempest, was a huge success and raised much-needed funds for the show that they’re taking to the Edinburgh Fringe.

Scandimania is powerful and exciting physical theatre story-telling of Norse mythology which has been devised by the students and Director Duncan Walthew.

Newly appointed secretary of The Sundial Theatre Company and cast member Ryan Walters said, “To perform at the Fringe Festival is a fantastic opportunity, particularly for those of us looking at pursuing a career in performance.

“The show is lots of hard work with almost 100 hours of rehearsals, but will be more than worth it when we’re performing to the theatre-lovers of the festival.”

The show is being performed at 1.10 pm every day from July 31 to August 10 at Sweet Venues in Edinburgh.

If you would like an opportunity to see a performance of Scandimania in the Sundial Theatre at Cirencester College, the students will be returning to perform the show on Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 11.
