THE GUITING FESTIVAL 2014 Friday 25th July until Sunday 3rd August inclusive The 44th music festival in Guiting Power promises to deliver ten outstanding concerts, featuring world-renowned musicians, to bring an exceptional programme to the heart of the Cotswolds.

This year’s opening concert is pianist Ivan Yanakov conducting The London Chamber Players, an eleven piece string ensemble. This is followed the next night be four-hands piano with Charles Owen and Katya Apekisheva. Our first open air concert, on Sunday 27th July, heralds the return of the Jason Rebello Quintet, supported by gypsy jazz band, “Swing from Paris”.

Moving on into the week, we have classical guitarist Morgan Szymanski with percussionists O Duo, followed the next night by a piano recital by Sophia Lisovskaya. Gwilym Simcock and his Jazz Quintet are set to lift the Hall’s lid on Wednesday 30th. This is succeeded by violinist Jennifer Pike, youngest ever winner, twelve years ago, of the BBC Young Musician of the Year. On the Friday, pianist Elisabeth Streichert plays Concertos in Miniature, with the five piece Pythagoras Ensemble.

The last indoor concert on Saturday, 2nd August, features the celebrated pianist, Imogen Cooper, performing a dazzling selection of Schumann, Brahms and Schubert, Bringing the Festival to a close, with an open-air folk concert, we welcome Steeleye Span’s former lead guitarist, Peter Knight with his band Gigspanner, supported by singer/songwriter, Megan Henwood.

Once again, The Guiting Festival celebrates the very best of British Summer concerts, with Excellence, Enterprise and Endurance.
