Gardens open for the National Gardens Scheme:

May 29/June 1: Hookshouse Pottery, near Tetbury, 11am -6pm, plants and teas, organic garden with dramatic open perspectives and intimate corners. Kitchen garden, orchard, water, cascades. Art & Craft exhibition including garden sculptures.

Sunday, June 1: Cerney House Gardens, North Cerney, 10am-5pm, plants and teas, wooded grounds with romantic walled garden. Scented garden, herb garden and working kitchen garden; Greenacres, Bibury 2pm-6pm, plants and teas, one acre of trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbs creating large informal borders with year round interest; Highnam Court, Highnam near Gloucester, 11am-5pm, teas, 40 acre Victorian landscaped gardens with restored Pulhamite water garden with grottos and fernery. Tuesday, June 3: A rare opportunity has arisen to visit the private royal garden at Frogmore House, located within Windsor Home Park in Berkshire. The garden will be open by kind permission of Her Majesty The Queen in aid of the National Gardens Scheme. The garden will be open from 10am - 5.30pm, with last entry at 4pm. To book tickets call 01483 211535 or visit the NGS website online shop. Tickets can also be purchased on the day, but with cash only. Once inside the garden, visitors can purchase a separate ticket from Royal Collection Trust to visit the house.

Other gardens open: Barnsley House Gardens open day and plant sales, Wednesday , June 4, 11am - 5pm. Designed by the late Rosemary Verey featuring the famous Laburnum Walk, Knot Garden, Temple Garden and Potager. Entrance donation: £5 per person. Barnsley House, Barnsley, Cirencester.
