MBE and Mojo Award-winning guitar pioneer Joe Brown will perform live at Cheltenham Town Hall on Tuesday, May 20, as part of his 32-date spring 2014 tour.
Joe Brown’s live show is a terrific display of 50+ years of musical skill and experience, packed with timeless classics, rockabilly, gospel, country, folk and rock 'n’ roll. Electric and acoustic guitar, fiddle, mandolin, ukulele and even the odd bit of banjo all come into play, with an ease and accomplishment others simply aspire to.
Joe’s latest album, The Ukulele Album, met with serious acclaim as did his live ukulele versions of classics such as Ace Of Spades, Mr Blue Sky and Pinball Wizard.
Hailed as the current champion of the ukulele, Joe’s very public love of the instrument has done much to boost its revival. In 2009, a signature series of Joe Brown ukuleles was produced and 2014 sees another range of Joe’s brand hitting the streets.
Joe’s professional career started in 1958 and he began recording in 1959, celebrating his 50th year in the business at The Royal Albert Hall in 2008. Tickets for Joe Brown’s live show at Cheltenham Town Hall are on sale now and available to purchase in person at the Cheltenham Town Hall box office, by calling 0844 576 2210 or via Cheltenhamtownhall.org.uk
