IF YOU are enjoying the Cirencester Hares and their fabulous and varied artistic interpretations, have you ever wondered who are the artists behind the project and what their regular artwork looks like?

The Cirencester March Hare Festival’s artistic director, Charlie Hill, who runs Artventure, will introduce these artists in an exhibition showing examples of their original compositions at Cirencester’s New Brewery Arts Centre’s Pop-Up Gallery between May 13 and 24.

Twenty-seven of the artists involved in the festival, including Yvette Green, Alex Beeching, Laurie Plant and Ali Corder, will showcase their work, which will also be for sale.

“My own company, Artventure, has sponsored one of the hares but usually we focus on organising art exhibitions in unusual and unexpected venues, so getting involved in the Hare Festival was a perfect fit,” explained Hare Festival artistic director and Artventure founder Charlie Hill.

Festival organiser Florence Beetlestone is also looking forward to the event. “The festival has many faces, it is not only about the hares and raising money for the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, it is also about promoting local culture and encouraging the public, especially children, to be inspired by art and sculpture. Our artists are critical to the success of the project and their talents should be appreciated and celebrated,” she said.
